I would like to take this opportunity in thanking those who voted for me to be Club Captain and to those who have supported me through the years.
I am honoured to take on such a role especially at a club that means so much to me.
Having joined the club in 2008 having only played golf about five times I became totally obsessed with the game. I would rush home from work so that I could get a game at Gifford. It wouldn’t matter what the weather was like hail, rain or snow I would be there! Things have slightly changed since I retired in that I only go out now when the weather is ok!
It didn’t take me long to get on the committee and to become more involved in the club taking on the role of Junior Convenor which I enjoy immensely and then to my delight becoming Ladies Captain in 2017.
I am very lucky in that I already know a vast majority of the members and over the next couple of years will hopefully get to know even more.
I am really looking forward to my new role and working together with you all.
I would like to thank Mark for his work over the very difficult last 2 years.
To Mike, for his work over the last few years as Finance Convenor.
I welcome Alistair Lyon Dean onto the committee and hope he enjoys his new role as Finance Convenor.
There will be changes in the committee structure and these will be rolled out in due course.
For me keeping everyone informed will be a priority and my intentions will be to send out a newsletter on a regular basis.
